Re-Dubbing Audio

Endless Space 2: Hissho Prologue Redub

Originally the prologue for the Hissho Faction in Endless Space 2. I took out all the music, sound effects and voice over. I replaced the sound effects with sounds from my own sound libraries. The music was rewritten and uses taiko drums along with three different synths. The taiko drums are meant to represent the traditional Samurai theme the Hissho borrow from. While the synths represent the sci-fi setting the game has. The voice over was done by a friend of mine, Knox Clendenen. I cleaned his voice to remove background noise. A simple equalization process was done to add more low end to his voice and give him more presence. A simple layered on top to so the voice over would not sound dry. All audio was mix in Pro Tools

Endless Space 2: Craver Prologue Redub

Originally the prologue for the Craver Faction in Endless Space 2. I took out all the music, sound effects and voice over. I replaced the sound effects with sounds from the sound libraries I have. Due to time constraints at the time I used the original music form the video. It uses two different tracks that I had to mix in order for them to fade into themselves. Many of the sound effects came from a sound library I had purchased at the time in and used this project to test them out. The voice over was done by a friend of mine, Knox Clendenen. I cleaned his voice to remove background noise. I duplicated the voice over track and put a pitch modulation with one side being high pitch and the other lower pitch when compared to the original audio. I did this at around 25% wet with 75% being dry. I did the same for both channels but flip the higher pitch and lower pitch sided so it was the opposite from the first track. Lastly I added a slight delay to give it more menacing sound. All of this created a voice over effect that sound alien like without completely ruining the voice.

Endless Space 2: Horatio Prologue Redub

Originally the prologue for the Horatio faction in the game Endless Space 2. I removed almost all the audio from the original cutscene. The sound effects were replaced with sounds from my own sound libraries. The music was redone by myself using instruments from Native Instruments plug ins. I attempted to recreate the original music by FlybyNo from the cutscene by ear. I used similar instruments as well, including a harpsichord, cello, and a similar synth to the one that was used in the original audio. The last section of the music transitions back to the original, both as a stylistic choice and a way to compare the similarities from my rendition to the original audio. The voice was done by my friend Knox Clendenen. I equalized his voice to give him more presence by raising the mid to low end. I added a compressor so clipping occurred. Lastly I pitch shifted a small percentage of his voice, added delay, and gave him reverb to make his voice sound more stylish.
